But GLAAD crossed the line--even with their supporters--in accepting a corporate payoff in exchange for their own effort to pressure government regulators. "In the last 24 hours, another shoe dropped in the sprint to redefine marriage in New York. A second Republican has now come forward, promising to vote in favor of same-sex unions. Earlier today, our sources on the ground said that the vote could come as early as tonight. "New York's legislative session isn't the only thing that ends next Monday--so could the state's definition of marriage. After a frantic month of lobbying, the state senate is teetering dangerously close to passing a same-sex "marriage" law. Two years after voting the measure down, homosexual activists are back. And this time, they have the support of four senators who helped kill the bill the last time around.

"Three Democrats and one Republican (Sen. James Alesi of Rochester) say their opinions have 'evolved' and now pledge to make New York the sixth--and largest state--to legalize counterfeit marriage. Part of the reason for that 'evolution' is the grassroots involvement. According to local leaders, the Left has been pumping calls into their offices. In 2009, Sen. Joseph Addabbo said that values voters had overwhelmed his phone lines with opposition. This month, he told the New York Times, there was no contest. "President Obama is taking its social activism to new heights--as in, above the Federal Reserve. Apparently, the administration's proclamation in support of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender pride triggered a series of parties and other events at taxpayer expense. America's central bank interpreted the President's declaration as an excuse to fly the rainbow flag above its building in Richmond, Virginia. On the same pole as Old Glory, the Feds are celebrating a behavior that Delegate Bob Marshall (R-Va.) says is 'still a class six felony in Virginia.'

"As Richmond's paper points out, the flag isn't the only thing that's been raised--so have objections. But despite the flood of complaints, bank managers refuse to bend. A spokesman for the bank said, 'The flag is an example of our bank's commitment to diversity.' The colors were reportedly flown at the request of an LGBT employee. I guess we'll see how supportive of diversity the bank really is when Christian Heritage Week rolls around next March in Virginia. "It's hard to believe that he made that statement with a straight face. After all the testimony and Pentagon scrutiny, it's incredibly disingenuous to suggest that the military won't be affected by repeal. Some leaders may be on board with the change, but even they recognize that it is change. If this were just business as usual, would the military be wasting hours on training? Would the Pentagon have deflected valuable resources to survey the troops?

"This isn't a change--it's a complete upheaval for the entire force. More than anyone, Secretary Gates should understand the major implications for the two million-plus active duty and reserve personnel. "The so-called Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act has already done more harm to religious freedom than good. The Roman Catholic diocese in Rockford has announced that it will close its doors on the church's adoption program before subjecting children to placement in homosexual homes. Like it did in Massachusetts and Washington, D.C., the Catholic Church refused to violate its convictions. Unfortunately, it's only a matter of time before other dioceses follow suit. For the church, this is an act of self-defense. Without a religious exemption, the law makes programs like this one vulnerable to lawsuits or state budget cuts. Much to the frustration of the bill's own sponsor, the state refused to carve out special protections for the religious organizations like this one. "If the administration keeps pounding its agenda through the military, we'll need the Navy SEALs to rescue marriage. Last week, we started to see some of the fallout from the 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' repeal. Without bothering to consult Congress-or the law-Navy officials decided to revise their training manuals to better accommodate same-sex 'marriage.' In a letter to the chaplain corps, Rear Admiral M.L. Tidd says it starts by freeing up military chaplains and facilities for homosexual weddings. 'This is a change,' Tidd wrote, 'to previous training that states same-sex marriages are not authorized on federal property.'

"Call it what you will, but that's not a change to 'training'--that's a circumvention of U.S. law. The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA)--which governs not just the military, but every federal entity--states that marriage is the legal union of a man and woman. Now that the ban on homosexuals in the military is overturned, the White House is trying to enlist the troops in its war on DOMA. And if the administration won't uphold the law, then it shouldn't surprise anyone that the President would order the military to ignore it." - Family Research Council head Tony Perkins, calling the decision to allow gay weddings on Navy bases "an assault on religious freedom."

Last week Perkins said we are also terrorists and cowards. All this from a man who loudly denies his hate group classification.
